Foundation repair in Florissant

Florissant has French colonial roots and an old town near the center, but most of its houses went up in the postwar years: long streets of brick ranches on block and poured basements.

The houses

A lot of Florissant was built quickly in the 1950s and 1960s. That means many basements of the same age, built the same way, and now showing the same wear: block walls with horizontal cracks at mid height, cove joints that weep after long rains and the occasional corner that has dropped where a downspout always emptied.

What we usually find

  • Block walls pushed in a little by wet clay, often a job for carbon fiber straps or braces
  • Water at the floor joint in spring, sometimes ending at a sump that was never installed
  • Carport and patio slabs tipped back toward the house

Permits

Florissant is its own city, so structural work is permitted through the city rather than the county. We confirm the office for your address and file there.

Seeing a crack you did not see last year?

Call or send the form. An inspector measures the house, explains what is moving and why, and puts the repair and its price on paper before anything is dug.
